River Deveron Salmon, Sea & Brown Trout Fishing
Eden Lodge, South Sandlaws, Alvah, Banff, AB45 3UD
The river Deveron is approximately 55 miles long and rises in the Cabrach Hills between Glass, Dufftown and Rhynie. It is part of the Deveron, Isla and Bogie Trust and as such we adhere to their rules. Over the years the river has been renowned as a Salmon, Sea Trout and Brown Trout river. The season for Salmon and Sea Trout is from 11th February to 31st October, while the Brown Trout season is 14th March to 6th October. To this day the Deveron still holds the UK record for a Salmon caught on a fly by Mrs 'Tiny' Morison back in 1924. Our two beats on the River Deveron are: Eden, which was purchased in 1970, extended in 2004 and accommodates 6 rods and Lower Inverichnie which was added in 1996 and accommodates 3 rods. Our River Deveron beats have been maintained and run to the highest of standards and are a family affair with the third generation now actively involved. Our ghillie, has been with us for many years and is on hand to assist guests.

More information
Salmon can be encountered right from opening day on February 11th anywhere on the river but the higher beats are usually a favourite. During April and May the brown trout fishing is superb with many specimens of 5 to 6 lb being caught each year.
Sea Trout start running towards the end of May until July and again a 7 lb fish is not uncommon.
The grilse run begins mid July but given water can start in June and can last all season.
